On The Job

Emily Phung

I was a greeter at a clothing store. It can be an overwhelming job, especially when the store managers expect you to tell each customer about the store promotions. It had been a long shift (6 am to 3 pm), and I was feeling tired toward the end of my day when a customer came in. As I began to tell her about the promotions, I stepped backwards into a shelf and knocked all the sweaters off it. Not only was I mortified about that, but I was even more embarrassed after she told me I had just greeted her a couple of minutes before!
