daVinci Studio Offers Developers a Visual Development

Tool for Use With OracleMobile Online Studio and

Wireless Capabilities of Oracle9i Application Server

Where2Net, Inc., a leading provider of multi-channel development tools and applications, today announced the launch of Where2Net daVinci Studio 1.0. Where2Net daVinci Studio provides Web developers with an integrated toolset for designing and developing mobile applications via a visual object metaphor and enables developers to quickly build applications utilizing XML/XSLT. Developers can instantly deploy the applications by leveraging the wireless capabilities of Oracle9i Application Server or through OracleMobile Online Studio, a Web-based environment for building, testing and deploying wireless applications.

With daVinci Studio, developers can deliver both prototypes and enterprise solutions without having to learn XML or write server side code. XML, XSL and JSP code generated with daVinci Studio are natively compatible with the wireless capabilities of Oracle9i Application Server for scalable deployment, either on a company’s premises, or as an online service via OracleMobile Online Studio. Applications developed with daVinci Studio can be used with Oracle9i JDeveloper as part of an end-to-end Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) development solution.

“As demand for wireless Web content and services grows, it becomes increasingly important for software vendors to provide customers with a rapid application development environment to create and manage mobile content,” said Alan Yeung, CEO of Where2Net. “Oracle9i Application Server delivers superior availability and scalability for location, personalization and multi-platform solutions. With Where2Net daVinci Studio, Oracle developers have an additional powerful option for building, testing and deploying mobile solutions.”

“Oracle is dedicated to making it as easy as possible for developers to quickly build dynamic applications,” said Jacob Christfort, CTO and vice president of product development for OracleMobile, the mobile products and services division of Oracle. “Where2Net daVinci Studio helps us achieve that goal by giving developers a visual alternative to writing code in the creation of mobile applications. By combining Where2Net daVinci Studio with the wireless capabilities of Oracle9i Application Server and OracleMobile Online Studio, mobile development teams have a complete solution, both online and on their desktop, to seamlessly add mobile support to their Internet and intranet solutions.”
