Wade Cook Financial Corporation Subsidiary, Stock Market Institute of Learning, Raises Funds for Red Cross

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 29, 2002

In dedication and support to community needs at local and national levels, Stock Market Institute of Learning (“SMILe”) recently used education to raise funds for the American Red Cross South King County Chapter (“Red Cross”). SMILe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wade Cook Financial Corporation (“WCFC”) (OTCBB:WADE), donated a portion of tuition fees from the company’s educational seminars to the charity.

Funds for the recent Red Cross donation were generated through a special limited time program involving SMILe’s flagship course the Wall Street Workshop (“WSWS”). Under this program through the month of December, WSWS attendees could designate that a portion of their tuition fees be given to the Red Cross. The funds raised totaled $18,935.

The WSWS is an intensive two-day seminar that introduces attendees to thirteen different stock and option trading strategies. During the seminar, speakers teach general stock market terminology and familiarize attendees with various trading techniques available to them when entering the market.

Robert Hondel, COO of WCFC, is pleased with the donation made to the Red Cross. “In light of the September 11th attack, I think we are all feeling the heightened need to reach out to others in our communities,” Mr. Hondel comments. “Moreover as part of WCFC’s basic mission statement, we are dedicated to `corporate philanthropy and community outreach.’ This donation to the Red Cross is our start in satisfying these objectives.”

Wade Cook Financial Corporation is the parent company to SMILe, one of the leading innovators in the financial education arena, providing numerous seminars and publishing various written materials relating to stock, option and real estate markets. Other company subsidiaries include Lighthouse Publishing, Ideal Travel and Brookhaven Homes. WCFC has over 63 million shares of common stock issued and outstanding, and is traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the ticker symbol “WADE”.
