Trigent Awarded CMM Level 4 Certification in Independent Assessment by KPMG; One of Only 125 Software Development Organizations Worldwide Assessed at CMM Level 4

NATICK, Mass. & BANGALORE, India — Trigent, a provider of software services and solutions for enterprise and ISV clients, announced that it has been independently assessed by KPMG against the Capability Maturity Model(R) for Software (CMM or SW-CMM) and has been rated at CMM Level 4. It is currently one of approximately 125 software development organizations worldwide that have been assessed at CMM Level 4.

“This achievement is a result of the company’s commitment to quality which transcends across all levels in the Organization. Trigent’s processes and systems provide a strong foundation for continuous process improvement,” said K.K.Raman, Lead Assessor and Director, KPMG.

The CMM is a process capability model developed by the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI). It provides an approach for defining, documenting, and measuring the maturity of processes used in software organizations, and for identifying the key practices required to increase the maturity of these processes to improve long-term business performance. The CMM includes five levels, of which Level 5 is the highest.

“Trigent has a longstanding commitment to quality management and continuous improvement,” said Bharat Khatau, CEO of Trigent. “Trigent has been ISO 9001 certified since 1996. Over the past few years, the CMM has emerged as a highly respected standard in the software industry for assessing an organization’s ability to achieve continuous improvements in productivity, cycle time, and quality in software processes. We view the CMM certification as another indicator to our clients of Trigent’s ability to meet goals for cost, schedule, functionality, and product quality.”

A SEI-certified independent assessor from KPMG conducted the CMM assessment of Trigent’s India Development Center in Bangalore. The site is responsible for development, maintenance and testing of custom business applications and commercial software products for Trigent clients, as well as for development of the company’s own software products. The achievement of CMM Level 4 assessment signifies that the organization has a well-defined and managed process for software development and for achieving ongoing quality improvements.

“The entire Trigent organization is committed to our quality management principles,” said Vasu Comandur, Head of Delivery. “I commend our software development team on their dedication to continuous improvement, which has helped us become a world-class software services and products company,” he added.
