Prudential Financial Inc. to Join FORTUNE 500 – R – Index

FORTUNE announced today that Prudential Financial Inc. (NYSE: PRU) will be added to the FORTUNE 500(R) Index (Symbol: FFX) after the close of trading on Wednesday, January 23, 2001.
Prudential Financial, based in Newark, New Jersey, provides a range of financial products that include life, property and casualty insurance as well as retirement and investment services. The company reported operating revenue of $5.0 billion for the quarter ended September 30, 2001.
Prudential Financial became eligible for inclusion in the FORTUNE 500 Index upon completion of the company’s initial public offering on December 12, 2001 and subsequent satisfaction of the share price, volume, and market capitalization criteria for the FORTUNE 500 Index in the 25-trading days following the IPO.
