Panini North America Partners with Benchmark Technology Group; Alliance Provides Comprehensive Check 21 Solution

DAYTON, Ohio — Panini North America, a provider of check processing solutions that develops and manufactures a complete range of products designed for item capture for financial institutions, announced a partnership with Benchmark Technology Group, a leading provider of branch automation solutions for financial institutions. The partnership bundles Benchmark’s Steller transaction processing software with Panini’s scanning devices, offering customers a comprehensive Check 21 solution.

In addition to being a Value Added Reseller (VAR) for the Panini suite of products, including the My Vision X and S1 Vision series, Benchmark Technology Group offers its own proprietary software application designed for financial institutions, enabling it to resell the entire hardware and software package. By combining the Panini devices with Benchmark Technology Group’s interface software, the partnership can offer a top-tier Check 21 solution that is efficient and cost-effective.

A small check scanner, My Vision X reads the check code line, captures front and back of the check and prints customized endorsement information. Standard features of the product include a patent-pending 3-mode feeder, MICR Plus(TM) recognition technology, programmable one line rear ink jet, a USB 2 interface, a 100 document feeder and the front and rear image capture of up to four images at 200 dpi.

Panini’s My Vision X covers a wide range of processing applications, allowing financial institutions greater flexibility in determining positioning for the device. It can be used at the teller window, back office operations, merchant locations or in cash vaults, depending on the needs of a particular institution.

“Benchmark Technology Group’s solutions truly reflect our vision and strategy for item processing in a post-Check 21 environment,” said Dave Youngerman, president of Panini North America. “Our technology not only manages the processing and distribution of checks, but this partnership enables our customers to accelerate check capture and presentment allowing financial institutions to fully maximize the benefits of early truncation.”

Benchmark Technology Group has more than 20 years of experience providing financial institutions with both, hardware and software solutions specifically geared toward branch automation. Its software enables institutions to capture check images at the earliest point of presentment, giving institutions a competitive advantage in the marketplace. By allowing institutions to capture at the earliest point, banks and credit unions can significantly reduce manual entry and posting accuracy, as well as offer new consumer and commercial services, all the while reducing paper-related and processing costs.

“Panini’s devices are a perfect complement to our software and hardware offerings,” said Jack Malinowski, CTO and COO of Benchmark Technology Group. “This partnership provides a scalable solution that enables institutions to build upon their initial investment and streamline the processes for image capture at the teller window. Banks can start with a lower capacity scanner and upgrade it, rather than replace it, through firmware as their volumes increase. Additionally, Panini’s scanners and our software offer a level of image integrity and automation that defines the standard for the new branch capture frontier.”
