RYE, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 5, 2001

Mobius Management Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBI), a leading provider of Web-based software for managing and presenting enterprise content, today announced the availability of e-Search & View(TM) 1.3 and DocumentDirect(R) for the Internet 1.3, new product versions that enhance Web content management, searching and presentation.

e-Search & View and DocumentDirect for the Internet are components of Mobius’s ViewDirect(R) software suite. ViewDirect software manages diverse content for use with customer relationship management (CRM), electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP), and other business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) applications. It bridges the gap between back- and front-office systems by capturing, storing and Web-enabling customer documents, such as bills, statements and invoices, as well as reports produced by enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other enterprise applications.

e-Search & View is a Web-based search engine for content that is “non-crawlable,” that is, inaccessible with other Web search techniques. DocumentDirect for the Internet accesses and presents documents and reports from a Web browser.

e-Search & View 1.3

“One of the most important uses of the Internet is to provide search and query capabilities across vast amounts of content,” said John Murphy, vice president of product marketing, Mobius. “This new release of e-Search & View will let our customers search quickly and easily for documents stored on different servers and different computing platforms across the enterprise.”

The new release of e-Search & View searches ViewDirect content across multiple document servers and platforms without the user needing to know the location of the documents. The document server processes the request and presents the results that meet the search criteria to the user with information about each document. The user merely clicks an icon to view the selected document, which can then be printed or downloaded. This feature allows the user to quickly locate and view all documents that meet the specified search criteria, such as statements, correspondence and check images that may be stored on different servers.

In addition, the new version of e-Search & View has an enhanced user interface that includes embedded on-screen help to assist the user in creating personalized searches and viewing results. A user-friendly date-selection drop-down box allows users to specify date ranges, such as last week, last six months or year to date.

DocumentDirect for the Internet 1.3

“More and more companies are providing ‘customer self-service,'” Murphy continued, “giving their customers direct Internet access to information about their accounts and transactions. New features in DocumentDirect for the Internet give them additional flexibility in how this information is presented.”

DocumentDirect for the Internet 1.3 features over 35 product enhancements to facilitate Internet document access and can now export documents as Extensible Markup Language (XML), including documents in formats such as AFP, DJDE/Metacode, PDF, PostScript, PCL, text and computer-generated reports. This capability facilitates data interchange with other systems. Additional enhancements to DocumentDirect for the Internet include:

— Flexible Content Presentment: DocumentDirect for the Internet’s flexible

content presentment (FCP) option uses Mobius’s proprietary pixel-level parser

to extract stored information from ViewDirect and display it along with other

content on a Web page. By loading stored information from ViewDirect into Web

templates that are designed to reflect an organization’s style, the FCP option

returns Web pages suitable for corporate portals, customer service, customer

self-service, or any other purpose.

— Web Template Designer: The Web Template Designer allows for creation and

addition of elements on a Web page, making it easy to perform tasks like adding

tables of data items, creating hyperlinks for drill-down, and adding static

elements like logos. It also provides text-editing capabilities to fine-tune

the look and feel of the Web page.

— Forms Overlay: The forms overlay feature allows the user to display or print

a document with a separately provided underlying form or image. Overlays can be

used for a number of purposes, including shading or coloring important areas to

provide emphasis, displaying text files as they would appear when printed on

pre-printed forms, and displaying a watermark on a document. When the document

is opened in DocumentDirect for the Internet, the overlay is accessed and

instantly merged with the document.
