Real-time strategy gamers dying for something new and addicting will get their wish on March 3rd when Psygnosis releases the online demo of its PC CD-ROM game, Metal Fatigue(TM).

Metal Fatigue is being heralded by the press as the hottest new game in the real-time strategy genre because of its unique 3-level, 3D gameplay and the diverse configuration possibilities of its huge robot characters. To further spread the word about the demo and the game, due out late Spring, Psygnosis will be hosting a special Metal Fatigue “Build-a-Bot” web giveaway in conjunction with eight top online media and technology partners the entire week of March 3rd. Information on both the demo and contest can be found on Psygnosis’ website,, or directly at

The Big Build-a-Bot Giveaway

One of the original concepts of Metal Fatigue is the ability to configure your giant combots with different types of arms, torsos and legs and stealing body part technology from opposing forces or CorpoNations. Each body part has its own strengths and weaknesses, allowing players to customize combots to fit their own strategies. Thousands of combinations are possible and strategies are limitless. Playing on this idea, the Build-a-Bot Giveaway will give gamers a taste of strategically building combots.

How it works. Each participating website is hosting an exclusive combot body part. The sites are listed on the contest page on Psygnosis Metal Fatigue website. A total of eight body parts can be found, creating two complete combots. The goal is to gather all the body parts (name captions) from all the sites, then go to the Psygnosis contest page and tick off the correct descriptions on a multiple choice column under each site. When all the body part descriptions match correctly for each combot, the participant will automatically see a reward animation and be officially entered into the contest.

Winners will be selected randomly. Prizes featured in the Big Build-a-Bot Giveaway include: a Sony(R) DVP-CX850D 200 disc DVD-player; five Diamond(R) Multimedia MX400 audio cards; five Diamond Multimedia Viper II 3D graphics cards; 10 Metal Fatigue collector’s edition Bushnell(R) hi-tech binoculars; 50 Metal Fatigue collapsible multi-tools in a cool metal case, and 100 Metal Fatigue classic T-shirts.
