Computer Technology Corporation d.b.a. CACTUS software is based in Prairie Village just outside of Kansas City, Missouri. They develop, support and market the leading credentialing and provider management software for hospitals and managed care organizations. Visual CACTUS was released in 1996 and is currently installed in over 350 hospitals and over 150 managed care and multi-entity organizations nationwide.

With this venture, CACTUS software & Med Advantage credentialing services create a marketing force that will bring the strength of two well established organizations in the healthcare information industry. CACTUS has long been an industry leader in the network/credentialing software business and Med Advantage has lead the credentialing service industry. “We decided to do what CACTUS does best and that’s to market a software package that allows our clients to operate with-in fluid system design to improve the process of network operations.” Says Wayne Auer, President of CACTUS software.

Med Advantage has performed quality credentialing services as an outsourcing organization for Managed care organizations and hospitals and has hesitated building a software program like its competitors. “Our philosophy has always been to not spread ourselves too thin, but to do what we do best – credentialing of medical providers”, says John B. Witty, President of Med Advantage.

This Joint marketing effort will allow the two organizations to do what they do best. However, both of the organization’s clients will have the ability to use each other’s services which will enhance their position in the credentialing of network providers whether they do credentialing in-house or out-source the process.

More information regarding the joint marketing position will be forthcoming. CACTUS and Med Advantage have their presence on the World Wide Web at and
