Maxxon, Inc. to Attend Emerging Medical Technologies Conference

TULSA, Okla.–(BW HealthWire)–Feb. 17, 1999–Maxxon, Inc. (OTCBB: MXON) today announced that Gifford Mabie, President and CEO, will attend the Emerging Medical Technologies West (EMT) Conference February 22-23 in Irvine, California.

Mr. Mabie will present the Maxxon Safety Syringe(TM) on Tuesday, February 23, at 4:30 p.m. The purpose of this conference is to bring new and exciting medical technologies to the attention of major medical pharmaceutical companies and financial institutions.

Maxxon attended the EMT East Conference this past September, where more than 400 companies were present. As a result of this conference, several companies expressed interest in distributing and manufacturing the Maxxon Safety Syringe or purchasing Maxxon or its technology. Maxxon expects its attendance at next week’s EMT Conference to be equally successful.

Maxxon is developing a patented disposable safety syringe that automatically retracts the needle into the plunger after use, thereby significantly reducing the risk of accidental “needlestick” injuries, especially to medical service and nursing personnel. There has been significant legislation recently passed in California and is being considered in other states which requires the use of safety syringes. No safety syringe is currently on the market at prices similar to non-safety syringes. Maxxon believes its safety syringe may fill this void.
