FRAMINGHAM, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 19, 2004
Lifeline Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: LIFE), the leading provider of personal response services in the United States and Canada, today announced that it has once again been selected by The Boston Globe, as one of the Top 100 performing Massachusetts companies in 2003. The Company ranked 38th in the survey, up seven points from 2002. In addition, Lifeline was ranked 20th in the top 50 growth companies named in the survey for the second year in a row and 36th for its 2003 return on average equity of 14.4 percent.
For 16 years, Massachusetts’ largest daily newspaper has been recognizing companies that have displayed strong financial performance in the year just ended.
“With our recurring revenue model accounting for an increasing percentage of our top-line and margin growth each year and our continuing focus on improving our return on equity, we have been able to achieve the positive results this survey recognizes,” said Ron Feinstein, president and CEO of Lifeline. “In addition, we increased our year-over-year net income in 2003 by 26 percent and continued to strengthen our balance sheet. We are pleased by this recognition.”
Companies listed in the Globe 100 were selected from among a group of publicly traded Massachusetts-based businesses listed on the NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange or American Stock Exchange. The companies were ranked based on financial data for calendar year 2003 and corresponding quarters a year earlier.
