kforce Consulting, a division of, (formerly Romac International) Trend Micro Inc. (Nasdaq: TMIC) and Softmart Commercial Services, Inc. today announced a strategic partnership at Lotusphere 2000. The partnership enables kforce Consulting to add Trend Micro’s ScanMail(R) for Lotus Notes AS/400 virus protection software product to its portfolio of IBM and Lotus service offerings.

Trend Micro is a leading providing of Internet virus protection. Softmart is a Trend Micro authorized software reseller and kforce Consulting is a certified solution provider of ScanMail for Lotus Notes on the IBM AS/400 platform.

ScanMail for Lotus Notes is available for Windows NT (Intel and DEC Alpha), OS/2, Solaris, AIX, S/390 and AS/400. Trend Micro’s award-winning ScanMail for Lotus Notes AS/400 is a native Notes application that detects and cleans viruses from Notes mail and shared databases to monitor and protect against viruses. Due to the fact that more than 80 percent of viruses are spread through email and groupware attachments, protecting the mail system at the server level is the most effective way of eliminating the spread of viruses that can cause data damage and threaten the 24×7 uptime required of IBM AS/400 servers.

Trend Micro is one of the only antivirus vendors with Lotus Premium Partner status. Its ScanMail for Lotus Notes(R) was awarded the 1999 PC Expert Award in the Email Solutions category at the European Networld + Interop show, the 1998 Lotus Notes and Domino Advisor Editor’s Choice Gold Award in the security category and InfoWorld’s Best of the Test Center Award in 1997.
