Merger combines Ucopia’s online retail marketing talents

with IGR’s ability to generate traffic through its partnership

as official registry for Modern Bride magazine

Internet Gift Registries, Inc. (IGR), a full-service online gift registry and retailing company today announced its merger with Ucopia (www.ucopia.com), an innovative Internet wedding gift registry service.

The merger makes IGR’s The Wedding Network (www.weddingnetwork.com) the Internet’s largest and fastest growing wedding gift registry service, offering customers an unrivaled selection of traditional and unique gifts, as well as services from locally-based companies.

The merger adds considerable new depth to IGR’s The Wedding Network, which already incorporates more than 35,000 products and services and captures registrations from more than 1,200 engaged couples each month. Through its equity partnership with $1.7 billion media powerhouse PRIMEDIA (NYSE:PRM), The Wedding Network is the official online registry and reseller for Modern Bride magazine and its 12 regional publications, Modern Bride Connection.

“Ucopia has had tremendous success at developing a diverse retail network that includes creative, locally-based services that generate increasing per-customer revenues from their Web site,” said IGR CEO Stephen Cunningham. “The combination of Ucopia’s marketing expertise and extensive retail relationships with IGR’s technical expertise and key strategic alliances will drive our success as the leading gift registry on the Internet.”

Using The Wedding Network, engaged couples can conveniently register for an increasingly wide range of gifts – from fine china and crystal to travel gear, and from symphony tickets to whitewater rafting trips. Wedding “guests” – anyone wanting to purchase a gift for the engaged couple – can easily log on, view the desired gift choices and make a purchase. Wedding guests can also conveniently purchase a great gift by phone or fax.

“It is clear that Ucopia and Internet Gift Registries complement each other in a number of ways,” said Dave Gulezian, president of Ucopia. “As a combined company, we will widen our industry lead by expanding our retail and service network, incorporating additional value-added wedding services and enhancing the online experience for engaged couples and their wedding guests.”

Ucopia is an innovative concept in wedding gift registry services, offering wide product selection, heightened convenience and an interactive shopping experience. Launched in March 1998, the company has built a broad network of retailers and service providers to create a comprehensive and easy-to-use gift registry service that is accessible via the World Wide Web, telephone and fax.

Founded in 1995, IGR specializes in online gift registries and related retailing services centered on life events and holidays. In addition to The Wedding Network, the company has also launched BabyTalk and Shop (www.babytalkandshop.com) in partnership with BabyTalk Magazine, published by The Parenting Group (a division of Time, Inc.).

IGR is located at 200 Fillmore St., Suite 400, Denver, Colorado 80206. Ucopia is located at 110 Sutter St., Suite 807, San Francisco, CA 94104.
