SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 2, 2004

Today, InfoWorld.com announced the availability of an InfoWorld-branded news aggregator using RSS/XML technology from Feedster, a search services innovator. InfoWorld’s reader allows access to multiple content feeds from InfoWorld, technology vendors, and other RSS content providers. The InfoWorld-branded reader expands the use of RSS from early adopters to mainstream technology buyers that make up a significant portion of InfoWorld’s site traffic. The InfoWorld-branded news aggregator is available at http://infoworld.feedster.com.

“RSS focuses the reader experience on user-selected topics and products,” stated Matt McAlister, vice president and general manager of InfoWorld.com. “Through our partnership with Feedster, the availability of the InfoWorld RSS reader broadens the InfoWorld reader experience and continues our pattern of innovation.”

“Feedster’s partnership with InfoWorld expands the use of RSS to a broader audience,” said Scott Rafer, President and CEO of Feedster, LLC. “We look forward to working with InfoWorld to bring the relevance and timeliness of RSS search and information delivery to IT and business decision-makers.”

InfoWorld is an innovator among RSS (rich site summary) content providers, offering direct access to unique feeds including InfoWorld Test Center reviews and topics including application development, networking, security, and telecommunications. InfoWorld also features weblog content via RSS from industry experts including Chad Dickerson, Ed Foster, Bob Lewis, Jon Udell, and Tom Yager. A full list of available RSS feeds is available at http://www.infoworld.com.

InfoWorld’s sharp focus on the evaluation and selection of information technologies has driven high levels of reader interaction, as well as advertiser demand to connect with this influential audience. In November 2003, InfoWorld was among the first RSS content providers to integrate in-line text advertising within the content feed.
