His primary responsibilities will include customer consulting and training on regulatory Web compliance, ensuring seamless implementation and integration with current customer Web site infrastructure and delivering the successful deployment of the HiSoftware solutions. Additionally, Nakata will provide strategic direction and legal policy guidance to the HiSoftware executive team.
“We are very pleased to have Ken join our fast growing team at HiSoftware,” stated HiSoftware President and CEO Kurt A. In 2000, Attorney General Janet Reno presented Ken with the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Information Technology. Until he left the Department in 2004, he was the Federal government’s lead policy attorney on the effect of disability rights laws on information technology.
Ken Nakata, HiSoftware’s new director of professional services and legal policy said, “HiSoftware’s amazing growth and huge customer base reflects the power of its unique core technologies. They are clearly a force in shaping the future of Web software technologies and I’m thrilled to be part of their leadership team.” Nakata added, “HiSoftware and its partners offer customers the perfect combination of knowledge, technology and resources to meet their current and future challenges.”
In addition to practicing law, Nakata is active in software and Web-based technologies and standards. He is a frequent speaker on both law and technology and is equally adept at conducting one-on-one workshops with programmers and developers as well as explaining law and policy to large audiences.
