SARASOTA, Fla. & CALGARY, Albeta–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 26, 2001

Gemini Learning Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Salient Cybertech, Inc., (OTC BB: SLEL) announced today the release of SWIFT Author, an XML-based eLearning authoring environment, which will complement Gemini’s SWIFT 5 eLearning solution.

SWIFT Author can be downloaded from the Gemini web site at on a 30-day trial basis at no cost.

Gemini’s SWIFT 5 allows clients to easily and effectively create, manage, and deliver eLearning courses via the Internet, Intranet, or CD-ROM, using existing or original content. Companies can provide customized training, including multimedia and graphical information, to employees, partners, suppliers, or any other audience.

The new SWIFT Author platform, which could cut development time by as much as seventy percent and requires no programming, integrates with SWIFT’s Adaptive Learning Environment and Testing Engine, which allow users to learn and be tested at their own pace.

“The beauty of SWIFT Author is that anyone can use it,” says Gemini CEO and President Kim Adolphe. “In the past, companies hired a team of experts that included an instructional designer, an IT pro, an interface design artist, and more. Now you only need the subject matter expert — SWIFT does the rest.”

Gemini’s clients Rand Worldwide and I/O Technologies, among others, have created successful training courses using SWIFT 5. Other organizations including Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, and the Canadian Department of National Defense have taken advantage of the free download to evaluate the technology. Gemini has made SWIFT 5 and the new SWIFT Author generally available on their website at no charge, as a “try before you buy” incentive.

“Until now, the ability to test an entire eLearning solution risk-free was unheard of,” Kim Adolphe explains. “Our strategy allows organizations to make informed, first-hand decisions before they choose an eLearning partner. We’re interested in building solid relationships and providing technologies that leverage our clients’ long-term investments in content and learning.”
