GE Commercial Finance Corporate Lending Names Bruce Buchanan as Managing Director, National Restructuring Group

NORWALK, Conn. — GE Commercial Finance Corporate Lending today announced that Bruce Buchanan has been promoted to Managing Director, leading the National Restructuring group. He most recently served as Co-Head of Originations and prior to that was Senior Vice President, Team Leader for the East Region of the National Restructuring group. The East Region completed over $5BN in new transactions under his leadership, including Delta, Mirant and Fleming.

“We intend to build on our already very strong market position in restructuring finance, providing debtor-in-possession, plan-of-reorganization, and out-of-court financings,” said Mr. Buchanan. “The robust high-yield market over the last few years has led to some very aggressive capital structures. This should fuel increased restructuring finance activity over the next twelve months and we plan to continue to be very responsive within the sector.”

Mr. Buchanan joined GE in 2001. Prior to joining the company, he held a variety of corporate finance positions with Bank of America, ING Capital, and Houlihan Lokey. Mr. Buchanan holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BA in Accounting and Business Administration from SUNY Albany.

GE’s National Restructuring group secures financing for companies restructuring either out of court or in a bankruptcy proceeding, as well as companies emerging from bankruptcy. Loans typically range from $30 million to $2 billion.
