FOX Sports Bay Area Names Director of Marketing; Tom Pellack Steps Into Director of Marketing Position
SAN FRANCISCO–(BW SportsWire)–Oct. 19, 1998–Tom Pellack, a 12-year television industry veteran, has been promoted to Director of Marketing for FOX Sports Bay Area. The announcement was made today by Jeff Krolik, Senior Vice President & General Manager of FOX Sports Bay Area.
Pellack fills the Director of Marketing position after serving as FOX Sports Bay Area’s On-Air Promotions Manager for the last four years. In his new role, Pellack will be responsible for the network’s marketing and community affairs activities. In addition, he will work with all facets of on-air promotions and programming for the network, with concentration on local development and coordination of FOX Sports Net’s national product.
“Tom will bring a great deal of enthusiasm, energy and the right kind of experience to his new position,” said Krolik. “He will be instrumental in continuing to grow the business, while providing leadership to our staff and play a major role in marketing development on both the local and national levels.”
Pellack has won an Emmy Award every year he has worked at FOX Sports Bay Area (formerly SportsChannel Pacific). Presented by the Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, his Emmy Awards include Outstanding Achievement In On-Air Promotions with Golden State Warriors Basketball (1994), Oakland A’s Baseball (1995), Hooked on Golf (1996) and San Francisco Giants Baseball (1997). Pellack also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Special with the “1997 Team of Dustiny” (1997). Other achievements include two Promax Golden Medallion Awards for Golden State Warriors Basketball and San Jose Sharks Hockey (1995).
Pellack’s television experience is extensive, which includes on-air promotions and production responsibilities at NBC (1986), Madison Square Garden Networks (1987) and ESPN (1998-93).
A native of Clifton, New Jersey, Pellack is a 1986 graduate of Ithaca College where he completed his college education with a B.A. degree in Communications. He is single and makes home in San Francisco, California.
