SUNRISE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oct. 18, 2000

Equinox Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:EQNX) today announced a strategic relationship with the Tzolkin Corporation, the leading provider of Dynamic DNS services. Equinox will offer Tzolkin’s TZO Dynamic DNS client as an integral feature of its Internet Broadband Gateway, the IBG-100/7. Small and medium businesses are now able to use their broadband Internet connection as effectively as large corporations without the recurring cost of maintaining a static IP address.

Each IBG-100/7 supports TZO Dynamic DNS using equigate.net as a top-level domain. Customers benefit from instant Internet visibility using a second-level domain such as acme.equigate.net. The premier level of TZO Dynamic DNS is also available. It allows businesses to establish their own top-level domain such as acme.com.

The Equinox IBG-100/7 is a DSL/cable sharing router and 7-Port 10/100 Ethernet switch. It is available through reseller and catalog channels as well as major U.S. and international distributors at a list price of U.S. $299. One year of free TZO Dynamic DNS service is provided with each IBG under the equigate.net domain name.

“We are pleased to offer TZO Dynamic DNS services to our customers,” said Chuck Pheterson, Equinox Director of Product Marketing. “Because the TZO software is integrated within the IBG, customers are able to reap the benefits and savings provided by Dynamic DNS without having to install software or modify networked systems. This joint effort reflects our ongoing commitment to product innovations that promote the use of today’s global networks in a cost effective manner.”

Gary Cook, CEO of The Tzolkin Corporation said, “The users of broadband connections are exactly the users who can best benefit from Equinox’s decision to include our TZO Dynamic DNS service with their IBG-100/7 Internet Broadband Gateway. The fastest growing market segment for networking products is in the small to medium sized business market. Combining the IBG-100/7 with our TZO Dynamic DNS service is a winning combination that offers significant added value to the customer.”

The Tzolkin Corporation, located just outside Boston, Mass., through the TZO.COM product line, provides software tools and services that help small businesses, associations, and individuals increase the value of their Internet connections.
