Eight Companies Seek Investors at Colorado Capital Conference; Panel of Leading VCs and Angel Investors to Critique Business Plans During Conference
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 9, 2003
Rockies Venture Club (RVC), Colorado’s premier entrepreneur networking organization, announced that eight companies seeking capital will present their business plans to a panel of leading venture capitalists and angel investors during the 15th Annual Colorado Capital Conference to be held on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at the Marriott City Center in Denver.
The companies include Accera, Inc., AirCover Network Solutions, Inc., Colorado Altitude Training, Diabetech, The ManiaTV! Network, MicroPhage, Inc., Uzed.com and WellDog, Inc.
“We are excited to present such a diverse and interesting group of companies seeking capital,” said conference chairman Blaine Versaw of KPMG LLP. “These companies are symbolic of an entrepreneurial and investing climate that is reenergizing. We have assembled a stellar group of CTEK Angels and members of Colorado Venture Capital Association who will listen to presentations of the business plans and critique them using the same formulas they use for plans sent directly to their companies. This will be a wonderful learning experience for the companies and anyone attending the conference who is seeking capital.”
One of the highlights of the annual conference is the investor track, which involves pre-selected companies presenting for funding. The eight selected companies are given 12 minutes to present to investors. The morning tracks, occurring at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., are for companies seeking angel financing. The afternoon track, beginning at 2:00 p.m., features companies presenting to a panel of venture capital experts, including Stephanie Smeltzer of Meritage Private Equity Funds, Chris Wand of Mobius Venture Capital and Chris Onan of Wolf Ventures.

Diabetech(R) is focused on automated remote biometric data collection and analytics. Its patent pending StealthCare(TM) system provides a leap forward in the care of children, adults, and expectant mothers with diabetes, who must monitor blood sugar levels multiple times each day to achieve optimal metabolic control and good health.

Its patent-pending amplification system provides a powerful method for detecting bacteria in extremely complex and low concentration samples at very low cost.
Uzed.com (UZED) is a consumer-to-business site that provides a quick and easy way to sell unwanted CD/DVD/Game entertainment inventory. The company also provides a business-to-business site for independent entertainment stores for the acquisition of pre-owned entertainment product(s).
