SOUTH NORWALK, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 24, 2004
EDGAR(R) Online(R), Inc. (NASDAQ: EDGR) — a financial information company specializing in making complex regulatory reporting by public companies actionable — today announced that its Chief Executive Officer and President, Susan Strausberg, will preside over the opening of The NASDAQ Stock Market in New York at 9:30 a.m. EST on March 25.
The event will celebrate the release of the company’s new book, “The EDGAR Online Guide to Decoding Financial Statements: Tips, Tools, and Techniques for Becoming a Savvy Investor.”
Authored by EDGAR Online Analyst Tom Taulli, the highly readable book provides practical advice on how individual investors can gain from events that frequently can only be found in a company’s filings. Taulli covers how to quickly screen filings for specific market triggers and what to look for in financial statements. He also offers tips on how to create checklists and use online research tools.
Taulli is the author of six financial titles including “The Complete M&A Handbook,” “Stock Options” and “Investing in IPOs.” Taulli teaches corporate law and corporate governance at the University of California at Irvine.
Taulli will also attend the NASDAQ Market Open and will be available after the opening bell to sign copies of the book.
Strausberg said, “We’re very excited to offer a book that helps investors make wise, profitable decisions. There’s a wealth of information available to investors and in today’s fast-shifting market with many over-valued stocks, investors really need an edge. This is the first book of its kind that recognizes that investors are short on time, offers practical insights, is fun-to-read and very affordable.”
EDGAR Online teamed up with Boca Raton, Fla.-based J. Ross Publishing – which specializes in business books, multimedia and online products – to publish the new soft cover title. J. Ross Publishing makes the book available at a discount to investors who purchase directly from their Web site at www.jrosspub.com for a special price of $29.95. Or, investors can call the publisher at (561) 869-3900 to order by phone.
The NASDAQ market open ceremony will take place at the NASDAQ MarketSite, which serves as the epicenter for NASDAQ news and events. MarketSite is located in the heart of New York’s Times Square.
