Draeger Medical, Inc. (Telford, PA) introduces Fabius GS, a progressive new anesthesia system that makes anesthesia delivery easier. Fabius GS is being showcased at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists in New Orleans.
Fabius GS introduces a substantial improvement in the way fresh gas flows are adjusted and measured since it is the world’s only anesthesia machine with vertical flow controls and electronic flow control indicators. This orientation allows for a much easier and more intuitive comparison of gas flows as well as export of fresh gas flow data to an information system.
The electrically driven and electronically controlled Fabius GS ventilator consumes no drive gas – a cost advantage in any healthcare environment. It provides Volume Control, Pressure Control and Manual/Spontaneous ventilation modes and allows for future upgrades. The unit’s monitor displays all measured volume, pressure and oxygen data, ventilation parameters and fresh gas flow information on a single screen.
The flexible, ergonomic design of Fabius GS allows for optimal positioning of the fresh gas decoupled, semi-closed breathing system. The unit can be height-adjusted and rotated over a wide range. It can easily be removed from the machine for cleaning and sterilization. In contrast to other devices, no extensive disassembly is required. It not only cuts set up and installation time but also substantially reduces the potential for leaks and OR pollution.
Standard accessory rails run the entire length of both sides of the machine – allowing customers to individually configure the unit with additional monitoring equipment, information management systems and accessories. Three large drawers offer an abundance of storage space. In addition, the unit provides a large, illuminated writing surface and an optional pull-out writing tray. Fabius GS is the new global benchmark in simpler, smarter and more sophisticated anesthesia system design.
