DEDHAM, Mass. — Red Sox Designated Hitter David Ortiz and D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches have teamed up this summer to promote the “Papi Says Scratch and Win” campaign. The campaign, which prominently features Ortiz, will provide D’Angelo guests with an opportunity to win great prizes, including a grand prize of live batting practice with David Ortiz. The “Papi Says” promotion will begin in July and run through September 15, 2006 or until supplies last.

For a chance to win batting practice with Ortiz, along with other great prizes, simply visit a D’Angelo and purchase any of the restaurant’s great products. Every guest will receive a “Papi Says” scratch ticket automatically with each purchase. The scratch ticket features a caricature version of Ortiz with three talk bubbles. Contestants scratch to reveal what each bubble says and essentially have three chances or “strikes” to win an instant food or beverage prize. All contestants will then rip off the perforated portion of the scratch ticket and will log on to www.papisays.com to enter a prize code for the opportunity to win the grand and second prizes.

D’Angelo will draw the name of the grand prize winner on September 16, 2006. In addition to the grand prize drawing, there will be 5 random drawings, every two weeks, for second prizes, which include four Red Sox tickets, worth $300.00, five David Ortiz autographed baseballs, worth $225.00 each and 200 “Papi Says” T-shirts, worth about $20.00 each.

D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches is the official sandwich of the Red Sox. The campaign will also coincide with the introduction of the Red Hot Papi Sandwich: A grilled chicken, cheese, mushrooms, peppers, onions, and a splash of Frank’s RedHot Chile ‘n Lime Sauce(R) sandwich. The Red Hot Papi sandwich will be offered for a limited time throughout the summer.
