COMPUTER CITY OPENS FIVE LOCATIONS; Adds Fourth Canadian SuperCenter, Enters Tulsa and Cincinnati Markets

FORT WORTH, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)– May 30, 1995–Computer City(R), North America’s preeminent computer superstore retailer, will open five new locations in two countries during June.

The company will open its fourth Canadian SuperCenter in Ottawa, Ontario, on June 14. Computer City already operates two SuperCenters in greater Toronto and a third location in Vancouver.

During the last week of June, the company will enter two new markets – Cincinnati and Tulsa, Okla. Additional sites will also open in Houston and Minnetonka, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Most SuperCenters are open seven days a week. Each has a highly trained, non-commissioned retail sales staff along with a technical service department. The technical service department is open during all store hours and is factory authorized to service all leading computer brands. Computer City’s exclusive “Upgrades on the Spot” department provides quick installation and testing of most hardware and software upgrades. Additionally, each SuperCenter has a professionally staffed training facility.

Computer City currently operates 73 locations in 44 domestic and five international markets. By the end of 1995, the company plans to operate nearly 100 locations in North America and Europe.
