THOROFARE, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 16, 2002
Checkpoint Systems, Inc., a leading provider of supply chain management and security solutions worldwide, has completed the installation of EAC/CCTV systems for Sears Canada’s IT facilities.
The system will secure three sites, including the retailer’s central data center for its entire Canadian operations.
“When Sears Canada was looking to upgrade its building security, they wanted to buy technology that would be relevant today, as well as tomorrow,” said David Shoemaker, Group Vice President, Strategic Marketing at Checkpoint Systems. “The system that we installed for Sears provides a combination of next generation security solutions to help their staff keep even tighter control over the buildings’ security.”
Checkpoint’s Threshold Enterprise EAC system, integrated with Integral Technologies’ First Line DVX digital recorders and OASIS software, has been networked to three of Sears’ IT facilities, allowing Sears security staff to remotely monitor each building through the companies existing Wide Area Network (WAN). By looking at an on-screen map of the building that appears as soon as an alarm has been triggered, Sears security professionals can instantly locate the exact location of the alarm. At the same time, on the same screen, staff can see the Access Control transaction information and view a live video feed of the area from the local digital video recorder.
“When we made the decision to upgrade our security systems, we looked for a partner who offered both the most advanced security technology and the best after-sales service,” said Susan Carbone, Technical Service Manager, Information Technology, Sears Canada. “Checkpoint’s technology met our long-term needs and our budget, without comprising on the integrity of the technology.”
