Belgian television broadcaster Canal+ Belgique, a division of the French pay TV group Canal+, is streamlining its sports and feature production process through the installation of Screening Room(R) from Convera (Nasdaq:CNVR).

Screening Room, an award-winning digital video content management solution, will provide Canal+’s editorial staff instant access via the company’s intranet to multilingual sports video footage.

With Screening Room, Canal+’s English, French and Dutch-language video footage can now be captured, indexed, managed and easily searched, enabling editors to quickly retrieve key highlights from which to compile their news reports and eliminate the need to manually search through hours of analog videotape to identify game highlights.

This latest Screening Room installation further strengthens Convera’s position in the broadcasting market as the leading provider of cross-lingual, multimedia search and content management solutions.
