HERNDON, Va. — BAE Systems has been awarded a prime contract for the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge solutions (EAGLE) program. The company will support DHS efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs of information technology systems and services in two functional categories – software development (category 4) and management support services (category 5).
Functional Category 4 is designed to provide for all phases of software design, development, deployment, and sustainment to ensure DHS applications and databases meet all mission goals and objectives. “BAE Systems industry-leading approach to reducing application lifecycle costs through advanced software sustainment techniques can bring great value to DHS,” said Marshall Banker, president, BAE Systems Customer Solutions. “Further, our track record of providing program management solutions across many complex and mission critical programs will help DHS in its crucial role of protecting U.S. homeland security.”
Since DHS was formed in 2002, BAE Systems has been an integral part of major DHS programs by providing support in the areas of enterprise architecture, IT transformation and strategy, and general enterprise and program management support.
Under the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, BAE Systems will work with more than 30 small, disadvantaged, service-disabled, veteran-owned, and HUB-zoned small businesses. To this end, BAE Systems has formed the Small Business Trusted Forum with the mission to work in a strong, cooperative environment, to provide best value solutions to DHS by maximizing the significant competencies that can be found in American’s small business environment.
Led by BAE Systems Information Technology, execution and delivery of task orders will be managed collaboratively across all divisions and groups within BAE Systems to bring preeminent resources, processes and solutions to DHS.
