Americo, First Superhero of the Americas, Appears in Iguana, National Spanish-Language Children’s Magazine; NicaGal, LLC Publishes Premiere Issue of Iguana
PHOENIX — Iguana magazine, (www.IGUANAmagazine.com) the nation’s first Spanish-language children’s magazine, announced that AMERICO(C), (www.americosuperhero.com) the first Latino superhero of the Americas, is making a special, featured appearance in its premiere edition. Iguana is now available nationwide.
“We are delighted that AMERICO chose to be a part of our inaugural issue,” said Christianne Meneses Jacobs, editor and publisher of Iguana, and president of NicaGal, LLC. “Iguana is unique in the children’s market as it is the first Spanish-language publication for children who grow up learning and speaking Spanish. We hope that they continue to read in Spanish, to feel proud of being bilingual, and to never forget their roots. Lee – aprende – disfruta!”
Iguana is filled with everything children, parents, and educators want: short stories, biographies and interviews with prominent Latino personalities, puzzles, craft projects, kid-friendly recipes, science articles, humor, and more. Although it is geared for children ages seven to 12, parents and educators will also enjoy reading Iguana.
“It is an honor and privilege to have AMERICO, the first Latino superhero of the Americas, appear in Iguana,” Eli Hernandez, creator and owner of AMERICO. He added that “it was fun putting together a comic page in which AMERICO speaks to children about responsibility, honor and listening to their parents.”
Meneses Jacobs noted that both Iguana and AMERICO were created to address the needs of Latino children. “We are excited to link our respective websites for a period of time so visitors may discover both Iguana and AMERICO.” Iguana magazine and AMERICO were each launched in 2004.
