PHILADELPHIA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Dec. 8, 2003

American Lawyer Media, Inc. (ALM), the nation’s leading legal journalism and information company and publisher of The Legal Intelligencer(R), Pennsylvania Law Weekly(R) and Delaware Law Weekly(R), today announced the launch of GC Mid-Atlantic(TM), a new magazine for chief legal officers and in-house attorneys in the region. GC Mid-Atlantic’s first issue, featuring a cover story on diversity efforts within legal departments at major local corporations, will reach an audience of more than 15,000 in Pennsylvania, South Jersey and Delaware. GC Mid-Atlantic joins GC South and GC New England, both introduced by ALM earlier this year.

The four-color magazine, to be published quarterly, will focus on issues of interest to the region’s corporate counsel, providing coverage of cases that impact companies, as well as people and personalities from the area’s corporate legal departments. In addition to profiles of leaders in the field, GC Mid-Atlantic will examine departmental management issues, case studies and regional lists, rankings and compensation reports related to in-house legal departments.

“Our publications have built a broad readership in the legal community through award-winning journalism on the practice and business of law,” said Tracy Blitz Newman, associate publisher and editor in chief of the magazine. “With the introduction of GC Mid-Atlantic, we’ll deliver expanded, focused coverage for the community of chief legal officers and the attorneys who work for them.”

Additional highlights of the inaugural GC Mid-Atlantic issue include a report on the rise of women running corporate legal departments, a review of upcoming Supreme Court cases of interest to corporations, an update on new state bar policies on limited-purpose law licensing and a profile of Richard Miller, general counsel for Pittsburgh’s Oxford Development Co.

GC Mid-Atlantic will be distributed to an initial controlled circulation group that includes members of DELVACCA (Delaware Valley Association of Corporate Counsel – America) and the Central Pennsylvania ACC (Association of Corporate Counsel), corporate counsel throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware and subscribers to ALM’s publications within the region. The magazine is also available to private attorneys by subscription. For subscriptions, or to be added to the complimentary distribution list for corporate counsel, please call 888-999-1916.
