Tiger Tees Off for Nike with New Signature Logo – Brief Article

BEAVERTON, ORE.–When Tiger Woods tees off in next week’s U.S. Open at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla., the mega-millionaire Nike Golf endorser will sport a new logo on his clothes and shoes. “We feel the new design is more upscale and consistent with where we’ve taken his line,” said Chris Zimmerman, division gm. Last spring, Nike completely redesigned Woods’ apparel collection with a more sophisticated look and luxury fabrics. The line, available at upscale resorts and green-grass pro shops, is one of the industry’s top-sellers. The TW logo, designed in-house, will be shown on the apparel, in the footbed of the shoes and on hang tags. Two weeks ago, Nike christened one of its head quarters buildings, a 158,833-sq.-ft. structure, the Tiger Woods Center.
