Karen Wishart has been named vice president of content planning and administration at Home & Garden Television in Knoxville, Tennessee. She will oversee the administrative, financial and legal commitments of the station’s programming, creative services and new-media departments. Previously, she was director of business and legal affairs.
Brenda J. Gaines has been appointed president of the U.S. division of Diners Club International, a subsidiary of Citigroup, in Chicago. In her new position, she will be responsible for overseeing all the day-to-day activity of the division. Gaines, who joined Diners Club in 1992, was previously executive vice president of corporate card sales.
Michael A. Dennis has been named vice president of U.S. services for the business communications systems group of Lucent Technologies in Murray Hill, New Jersey. He will lead the 13,000-person organization, which provides installation, maintenance and other services to Lucent’s U.S. business customers. Previously, he was head of the unit’s field services organization.
Horace S. Webb has been appointed senior vice president of public relations and public affairs of Entergy Corp. in New Orleans. He will lead Entergy’s activities in public relations/communications, corporate responsibility activities and more. Previously, he was senior vice president of public affairs at ConEd Co. of New York.
Linda W. Banton has been named vice president of aerospace government relations for AlliedSignal in Washington, D.C. She will lead legislative activities in Congress and oversee strategic government relations related to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. Previously, she was vice president of legislative affairs for Lockheed Martin.
