506 Rheinzink – Brief Article

Surrey University’s European Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (EIHMS) by Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners, has a triangular plan and a distinctive flaring nose cone. The hyperbolic paraboloid geometry employed made it possible to computer-design and manufacture the various shapes needed at low cost. For wrapping around the nose cone and roof, the architects specified Rheinzink’s preweathered, angle standing seam zinc system.
