Auditor General of the Air Force – managerial departments of Air Force Audit Agency – Brief Article

The Operations and Resource Management Directorates merged on 1 January 2003. The combined Operations Directorate (AFAA/DO) is located in the National Capital Region and provides staff support to the Auditor General. AFAA line operations are managed through the following three directorates:

* The Financial and Systems Audits Directorate (AFAA/FS) at March ARB directs all financial and information technology audits including financial management, information systems and assurance, communications, and the Chief Financial Officers Act. AFAA/FS also manages the Financial and Systems Audit Region (headquartered at Scott AFB) with audit offices and teams located on major Air Force installations in the Western US and the Pacific.

* The Support and Personnel Audits Directorate (AFAA/SP) located at Brooks AFB directs audits related to air and space operations, personnel, engineering and environment, support services, health care, and intelligence. AFAA/SP also manages the Support and Personnel Audit Region (headquartered at Langley AFB) with audit offices and teams located on major Air Force installations in the Eastern US and Europe.

* The Acquisition and Logistics Audits Directorate (AFAA/QL) at Wright-Patterson AFB directs all acquisition and logistics audits including contracting, acquisition, competitive sourcing, logistics, research and development, and security assistance. AFAA/QL also manages the Acquisition and Logistics Audit Region, collocated at Wright-Patterson AFB, with five area audit offices at AFMC bases.
