Denso Cuts U.S. Workforce, Citing Slowdown In Telematics Demand

Denso International America, Inc., North American headquarters for Japan-based Denso Corp., said that it has cut a total of 177 jobs at two of its California facilities: Denso Wireless Systems America, Inc., in Vista, and LA Laboratories, in Carlsbad.

” . . . we took this action as a result of our customers delaying their commercial telematics product plans for the near-term due to the dissolution of their planned service provider,” said Ted Toyoda, president of Denso Wireless Systems America and LA Laboratories.

“Although the short-term market demand for telematics has shifted in North America, we anticipate that in the long-term, the telematics market will grow,” said Mitsuharu Kato, director, Denso Corp. Board of Directors.
