Ohio outdoor drama
Nancy Baren Miller
Our nation’s newest outdoor drama, Johnny Appleseed Outdoor Historical Drama, is staged on a dramatic site in Johnny Appleseed Forest near Ashland, Ohio. With song, dance, and dialogue, the tale is based on true accounts of John “Appleseed” Chapman’s experiences in north-central Ohio. His rapport with the area’s pioneer settlers and Delaware Indian tribes provides the basis for this story. Yet he finds himself caught in the growing conflict at the start of the War of 1812. Performances are daily, except Mondays, June 18 through August 27. For details, browse www.jahci.org or call (800) 642-0388.
