Z Animation opens targeting TV commercials – Animation
LOS ANGELES — Veteran executive producer and former Acme Filmworks head of production Peter Barg has founded a new animation facility that will service the television spot market. Z Animation (www.zanimation.tv) opened with a staff of 16 directors, graphics artists and illustrators, and is supported through sales and production offices in both New York and Los Angeles.
Veteran team members include Vincent Cafarelli and Candy Kugel, who’ve been creating animated shorts since 1987, and who’ve directed commercials for Burger King, Frito Lay and American Airlines, as well as projects for NBC, ABC, CBS, MTV and HBO.
Bruce Schluter, formerly a creative director with R/Greenberg Associates in New York is also available for spot work. Schluter’s credits include campaigns for Lethal Weapon, Independence Day and The Matrix, as well as spots for BF Goodrich and Gillette.
Additional directors include the team of Oscar Grillo and Ted Rockley, animator/creative director Neil Goodridge, live action/animation specialist Gill Bradley and indie filmmaker Jeff Scher and director Rosana Liera.
