Support for terrorist victims continues in the art community – news – Brief Article

Artists, galleries and publishers are maintaining their efforts in support of the victims of Sept. 11 and their families. Here is a continuing look at the art projects that support or honor the cause.

“Another Day of Freedom” is a poster by artist Bradley J. Parrish reproduced from the original painting which is a part of the permanent collection of the Statue of Liberty. To raise funds to help the many victims of Sept. 11, MouseKing.com and Parrish Fine Art Inc. have published this poster to be sold and distributed nationwide. Deljou Art Group has teamed with several industry leaders, including Wild Apple, Winn Devon, Top Art, Mitchell Beja and New York Graphic Society, to help the victims of Sept. 11. Deljou officials spearheaded a relief effort and asked veteran painter Craig Alan to produce a work of art that would at once memorialize those who lost their lives in the tragedy, while also celebrating the resilience of our country. The result is “9-11-01.” The company is producing a limited-edition giclee of the image (edition size of 911, measures 20 by 30 inches and retails for $150), and will give all of the profits to relief efforts in New York City and Washington, D.C. “Wall Street Bull” is a limited-edition lithograph available in an edition of 500 by artist Raymond Pina. Fenix Fine Arts has introduced a Patriotic Series of hand-enhanced giclees by Jesus Barranco from Spain and Beatriz Ramirez from Colombia. Ramirez’s painting, entitled “Tribute To America” (l) is available in three sizes in various edition sizes. Arts Uniq artist Deb Collins recently created “Liberty,” an open-edition poster available in two sizes that retails for $28 and $25, in memory of the events of Sept. 11. Collins used her grandfather’s World War II flag as a model for the work. “It is for him and others like him who gave all, and men like my husband, a Vietnam veteran who served his country proudly, that `Liberty’ is dedicated,” she said.” And it is for the proud American heart of my Dad that at the bottom of the image viewers will find that now famous quote from President George W.
