Rosen Group establishes public affairs department – news – Brief Article
BALTIMORE, Md. — The Rosen Group, an arts marketing and publishing firm that produces the “Buyers Market of American Craft” (BMAC) show and publishes Niche and American-Style magazines, has established a public affairs department.
A work in progress for several years, the department will develop and coordinate new projects aimed at furthering the group’s advocacy of the craft industry. It will do so by providing support services to exhibitors of BMAC, implementing outreach strategies for new artists and developing an ambassador program that brings together experienced and emerging artists. Additionally, the department plans to coordinate lobbying initiatives to improve current indelible labeling laws and work with the National Park Service to include more American-made crafts in its stores.
Alisha Vincent, previously the outreach and development coordinator for BMAC, was named director. Since 2000 she has been a faculty member of the Arts Business Institute, educating up-and-coming artists in the wholesale market, public relations and trade show booth design. Vincent is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she regularly lectures to artists about self-promotion and careers in the arts.
