Rijksmuseum – Museum Matters – Brief Article
Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum has become the first museum to create a permanent exhibition space at an airport. The new annex, recently opened at the city’s Schiphol Airport, features a display of Old Masters from the museum’s collections, along with temporary exhibitions of Dutch art and applied art. The new location provides much-needed exhibition space for the museum during its on-site renovations from 2003 to 2008, during which its main building will close in 2004.
