Quadrum SACA show continues string of successes
BOLOGNA, Italy — The 24th Quadrum SACA international trade show for the moulding, frame, graphics and related technology industries, held Feb. 16-Feb. 19 at the Bologna Exhibition Centre, attracted 8,021 attendees–a 6.6 percent rise over the previous year.
With more than 286 companies exhibiting–with half from 29 foreign countries, including the United States–Quadrum SACA continued as an important international show.
“The merit of this strong international participation can be [attributed] to the hard work done by the 31 consulates and embassies engaged in promotion and trade between Italy and the respective countries,” says Giulio Cesare Alberghini, chairman of O.N. Organizzazione Nike, the producers of the event.
A new and unique event at Quadrum SACA 2006, was “Framemotion,” a show within a show, organized by architect Laura Villani. Examples of the very best in Italian style were presented in frames interpreted by stylists Elio Fiorucci and Krizia; designers Alessandro Mendini, Costanza Dagna di San Marzano, Marlo Bellini, Michele De Lucchi and Roberto Fallani; artists Nicola Bolla, Ottmar Kiefer, Vittorio Valente, Laura Romero and Urano Palma.
“The beauty that distinguishes the products on display at Quadrum SACA helps us live better,” said world-famous designer, Elio Fiorucci, who cut the ribbon that officially opened the event. For the Milan designer, the meeting with the world’s major manufacturers of mouldings and frames was a chance to emphasize the importance of “frames in defining a home style.”
The next Quadrum SACA will be held in the Bologna Exhibition Centre Feb. 15-18, 2007.
