Postage stamps launched in honor of Holder
LONDON — The islands of Trinidad and Tobago have honored Rosenstiel’s artist Boscoe Holder with the launch of five postage stamps and an official First Day Cover featuring Holder’s works. Born in Trinidad in the 1920s, Holder has led a celebrated life across the world as a painter, dancer, costume designer, choreographer, orchestra leader and pianist. One of the artist’s pieces was presented at the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer’s wedding on behalf of the people of Trinidad and Tobago. He has received several awards, including Venezuela’s highest decoration, the Order of Francisco di Mirand and the dedication of May 22, 1983 as “Boscoe Holder Day,” by the Mayor of Washington, DC.
