Orthopaedic Surgeons searching for artists
ROSEMONT, IL — The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is having a call for entries for its exhibit “eMotion Pictures: An Exhibition of Orthopaedics in Art.”
The call for entries is open to all artists at any age who have or have had an orthopaedic condition and orthopaedic surgeons. The deadline to submit artwork is Oct. 15, 2006. A $2,500 Best of Show award will be presented along with additional awards.
The theme of the artwork can represent any aspect of the artist’s feelings toward or relationship with the orthopaedic condition, patient or profession.
There is no entry fee, and artists can submit up to 10 digital images online at www.aaos.org/emotion. Artworks of all mediums are accepted.
The exhibit is a main component of the AAOS’s 75th Anniversary celebration. Selected pieces will be displayed during the AAOS 2008 Annual Meeting in San Francisco and will be featured in the AAOS’s 75th Anniversary traveling exhibit, Web site and/or online museum.
