Olympic gold medalist unveils official artwork for 2004 Summer Olympics
NEW YORK — Olympic athlete Dan O’Brien, who won a gold in the 1996 decathlon, unveiled the official collection of commemorative artwork for the 2004 Summer Olympic Games Feb. 26 at Plaid in Manhattan, Artwork was designed by official Olympic artists, including Debbie Brooks, Susan Manders and Marco (USA), Mina Papatheodorou Valyrake (Greece), Charles Billich (Australia), Hans Erni (Switerland), Cristobal Gabarron (Spain), Euripides “Rip” Kastaris (Greece/USA) and Sergey (Russia/USA).
The unveiling was accompanied by an auction of Olympic artwork, the proceeds of which went to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
