Legion Paper Unveils Digital Art Paper

Circle of Cats Candlelamp Sets Records at Windstone Editions
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.–Windstone Editions’ “Circle of Cats” candlelamp by sculptor M. Pena was introduced six months ago and has become the best-selling piece ever produced by the 16-year-old company. “We’re working extended shifts to handle the demand for the `Circle of Cats,’ as well as other candlelamps,” said company President John Alberti. “We’ve never seen anything quite like this. There’s something about these cats that’s hitting a chord out there.”
In other news, the company has released three other candlelamps by Pena: “Wizard’s Retreat”, “Mushroom Ring” and “Spirit Wolf.”
Decorative Expressions Develops Newsletter
ATLANTA–The Fine Art Division of Decorative Expressions Inc. has developed and distributed the premier issue of “The Alvar Update.” This six-page, full-color newsletter covers all news stories and art by Spanish artist Alvar.
The premier fall/winter issue was created to keep Alvar collectors and galleries abreast of the artist. The biannual newsletter contains articles, including one by Dr. Betty Jean Craige.
Craige is a professor of comparative literature and the director of the Center for Humanities and Arts at the University of Georgia. During a recent trip, Craige met with Alvar and discussed his life and works in great detail, and she is working on a new illustrated book which will be published in 2001 that covers the lithographic works of Alvar.
Another feature that will be in each issue of the newsletter is a Gallery Perspective article. In this article, an owner/director of a gallery which features Alvar’s work will write of his/her impressions and successes with Alvar. In the fall/winter issue, Robert Rowen, owner of the Nuance Galleries, contributed.
A second printing of “The Alvar Update” was made without Decorative Expressions Inc. name and address so galleries can easily use this newsletter for marketing efforts.
Hadley House Signs Krystii Melanie

Image Conscious Releases Catalog
SAN FRANCISCO–Image Conscious has released its 2001 poster catalog. The hardbound book has 334 pages and approximately 1,300 images, 600 of them new. The catalog will feature 14 categories, including Asian, contemporary, landscape, vintage, ethnic, humor and sports. The book features several top-selling images from the Art Group of London, of which Image Conscious is the exclusive U.S. distributor. Artists Presents President Clinton with Work
LOS ANGELES–Artist Sharie Hatchet Bholman recently presented President William Clinton with a personalized version of here 3-D “Fireworks over Washington D.C. “during a party at the Malibu estate of Barbra Streisand and James Bolin. Bholman is known for her 3-D cityscapes, which she paints under the pseudonym Roxy. She has her originals reproduced as posters, limited-edition lithographs and 3-D works.

DENNIS, Ma.–Wilson Gallery and Virgem Reproductions have appointed Image Source International as agent to distribute four open editions of the paintings of artist Juarez Machado. Virgem Reproductions will continue to distribute his limited-edition giclees. Wilson Gallery is the sole representative of Machado’s original oils and sculptures in North America.
Machado is a contemporary artist whose works combine belle epoche style with art deco, according to his representatives.
