N.Y.’s Museum of Modern Art to expand educational programs …

For its reopening in midtown Manhattan on Nov. 20, the Museum of Modern Art announces the development of new educational programs including four expanded areas: adult and academic programs; community and access programs; educational resources and materials; and school and family programs. Such programs consist of adult education seminars and courses; expanded “touch tours” and visually descriptive audio tours for the disabled; the annual Senior Day for the elderly; a series of publications on the museum’s permanent collection; and multiple-visit programs for school groups.

“MoMA’s development of education is committed to reaching out to the New York metropolitan area and beyond–to families, visitors, students, teachers and scholars from around the world–offering innovative programs to foster dialogue emerging from the museum’s collection,” says Deborah Schwartz, director of education.
