Linda Jones features life model sessions – Show news – Brief Article
IRVINE, Calif. — Linda Jones Enterprises will bring a new exhibit of life-model drawings from the hand of animator Chuck Jones to Artexpo. Spotlighting this premier will be life-model classes directed by Professor Sherry Camhy of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Four life models will be appearing throughout the day at the LJE booth #1209 in the Animation Pavilion while three student artists draw them. Camhy will provide commentary as each modeling session progresses. Sessions will begin at 10 a.m. on Feb. 27 and continue through March 2.
Camhy teaches students the skills necessary to become the artists they need to be to become animators. Chuck Jones was taught that drawing the human form was the most important aspect of becoming an artist. He recalled one teacher instructing, “You birds have 100,000 bad drawings in you, start getting rid of them now.” As his career in the animated film progressed, Jones continued his lifelong passion for drawing the human form.
