Kolibri Wins Print Competition Award – Kolibri Art Studio Inc – Brief Article
TORRANCE, Calif.–Kolibri Art Studio Inc. received a Benny Award for Best of Category in the 2001 Premiere Print Awards, a worldwide printing competition. Competing against more than 5,500 entries from printing and graphic arts companies, Kolibri Art Studio, headed by Herta Headrick, received a Benny in the category “Large Format Printing” for “Our Journey Home” by Tim Liess.
The work was scanned on a flatbed scanner directly from the original painting, and the colors were adjusted in Photoshop. The 30- by 75-inch giclee was printed on an Epson 9500 using Satine watercolor paper and Epson pigmented inks.
Kolibri also received a Best of Division award for “Homage to la Rochelle” by Galleria Prova and two Awards of Recognition for “Position of Power” by Tim Cantor and “Girl with Dragon” by Mutsui Imomata.
