Elliott Brown Gallery closes doors – gallery News – art gallery – Brief Article

SEATTLE — Kate Elliott has closed the doors of her Elliott Brown Gallery and will return to being a private dealer and consultant specializing in modern and contemporary glass art.

Elliott, a private dealer since 1980 and director of the gallery since its opening in 1993, said, “I am thrilled with the prospect of spending more time helping collectors care for their collections, and with artists in developing and maintaining their careers while trends are shifting. I consider this a very positive move, at the right time. I will continue exhibiting some of the gallery artists at SOFA Chicago and other expositions and take on special projects. I plan to re-open the gallery at a future date.”

In the meantime, Elliott said she will continue curating and organizing exhibitions, doing appraisals, consulting and buying and selling on the primary and secondary markets.

The gallery will remain online at www.elliottbrowngallers.com. To contact Elliott, call (206) 660-0923.
