Disney’s Little Mermaid to swim into Wyland Galleries – Gallery news – Brief Article

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.–Wyland Galleries has announced that the world’s most famous mermaid, Ariel from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” will be swimming into 40 Wyland Galleries in the United States and Japan this fall.

Working in concert with Walt Disney Art Classics, marine artist/environmentalist Wyland will create six limited-edition prints of paintings and five limited-edition bronze sculptures that incorporate Ariel into Wyland’s magic undersea world. The first two signed limited-edition prints on canvas from these paintings will be released this fall, along with two limited-edition bronze sculptures.

“When I was growing up in the Midwest, I was inspired by two people” said Wyland. “The first was French explorer Jacques Cousteau. The other was Walt Disney. I’ve tried to reflect the spirit of both visionaries in this unique series of fine art.”
