DECOR expo—Atlanta deals with show cancellation – in the news – Brief Article

SEVEN HILLS, Ohio–DECOR expo–Atlanta, the art and framing trade show which was scheduled to take place Sept. 21 to 23, was cancelled as a result of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. In a letter to exhibitors and attendees, show organizers said the decision was made out of respect for those who died in the events and “in appreciation for everyone’s feeling of safety.”

According to Pfingston Publishing L.L.C., who owns the show, insurance claims were submitted the first week of October for the losses incurred from the cancelled event. Due to the amount of insurance claims being filed, Pfingston is unsure when these claims will be processed.

In a letter to attendees, exhibitors and vendors dated Oct. 6, Vice President of Expositions Eric Smith detailed a plan to offer those affected by the cancellation credit for DECOR expo’s 2002 shows. Company officials could not be reached for comment.
